The way the people of Ponson are able to sell their live stock is by bringing it to the city of Ormac only accesable by boat.

A select few of the people on the island who can afford a vehicle use them to drive people around in a taxi-like service.

There is a growing construction industry on the island. Though it is a better job on the island it pays very little. 

On of the largest industries on the island is coconuts. The collectors climb up into the trees that can be upwards of 30 feet tall and grab the coconuts. They sell them to cosmetic companies around the world to use in their products.

People on the island often raise livestock like cattle on their farms.

People pick foods for larger farms

On the island there are weekly cockfights that are gambled on.
